Preparation for ultrasound examination
Preparation for an ultrasound examination (sono) is key to ensuring accurate results. It is important to follow a few basic guidelines that will help you get ready for this examination.
Empty stomach: For some examinations, fasting is required. It is recommended not to eat or drink for at least 6 hours before the examination.
Hydration: For examinations of the pelvic organs, it is necessary to drink a larger amount of fluids to fill the bladder.
Medications: Continue taking your medications before the examination.
